A Large Dog Travel Crate Collected from Harem Bus Station and Delivered Across Istanbul

Sometimes preparing a pet for international travel involves much more than booking a flight.

This story began when Alanood Hajri contacted Ana Kurye because a large dog travel crate needed to be collected from Harem Bus Station and delivered to Idealtepe in Istanbul.

The crate had started its journey in Mersin and was travelling overnight to Istanbul on an intercity bus. It was an important part of the preparations for taking a dog abroad.

The crate was empty, but its size made the delivery more complicated than a standard parcel.

It measured approximately 93 centimetres in length, 65 centimetres in width and 68 centimetres in height. Before accepting the job, we needed to confirm that it could be collected safely, secured properly and transported without damage.

An Overnight Journey from Mersin to Istanbul

The travel crate was already on the road when Alanood contacted us.

It had been loaded onto an overnight bus travelling from Mersin to Istanbul and was expected to arrive at Harem Bus Station the following morning.

Unlike a standard courier collection from a shop or home, a bus station pickup requires active coordination.

The exact arrival time may change because of traffic, road conditions or scheduled stops. The courier must also know which bus company is carrying the item, how to identify the vehicle and whose name is written on the package.

Monitoring the Delayed Bus

The bus was originally expected to reach Harem Bus Station at around 8:00 AM.

By the morning, however, the estimated arrival time had changed.

The bus was running late and was now expected to arrive shortly after 9:00 AM.

Delays are common on overnight intercity journeys, so we had already included additional waiting flexibility in the service.

We informed Alanood immediately and reassured her that we were monitoring the arrival.

She did not need to contact the bus company repeatedly or worry about whether someone would be available when the crate reached Istanbul.

We continued tracking the journey and waited for confirmation from the driver.

Collecting a Large Pet Travel Crate at Harem Bus Station

Once the bus arrived, our courier located the correct vehicle and collected the travel crate.

The item was much larger than an ordinary courier package, so it could not simply be placed in a delivery box.

Before departing, the courier carefully positioned and secured the crate to prevent movement during transportation.

This stage was especially important.

A pet travel crate must remain structurally sound. Damage to its doors, fasteners or frame could make it unsuitable for a future flight or international pet transport.

Although no animal was inside the crate, it still needed to be handled as specialist pet travel equipment rather than as an ordinary piece of luggage.

As soon as the crate had been collected, we sent Alanood an update confirming that it was safely in our possession.

Secure Oversized Item Transport in Istanbul

The route continued from Harem Bus Station on the Asian side of Istanbul to Idealtepe.

Because the delivery was not urgent, we could focus on secure handling rather than rushing the journey.

The courier checked the crate again before departure and made sure it was firmly secured.

Transporting an oversized crate by motorcycle requires experience and careful balance. The driver must consider the dimensions of the item, wind resistance, road conditions and the safest possible route.

The crate remained under the courier's direct supervision throughout the journey.

There was no warehouse transfer, no second vehicle and no unattended storage point.

Final Delivery in Idealtepe

The crate was delivered successfully to the designated recipient in Idealtepe.

Once the handover was completed, we informed Alanood immediately.

The large empty travel crate had completed a long journey:

• First from Mersin to Istanbul by overnight bus.
• Then from Harem Bus Station to Idealtepe by a dedicated local courier.

For Alanood, this meant that one more important part of the international pet travel preparation had been completed.

The crate was now at the correct location and ready for the next stage of the dog's journey abroad.
