That distinction affects who can release the item, which authorization documents are required and whether Customs approval is needed before a courier can collect it.
Procedure
Turkish Airlines Lost Property Collection Procedure
Turkish Airlines may request a Turkish authorization document or power of attorney, passport copy, boarding pass or ticket copy, the full name of the authorized person who will collect the item and, where applicable, notary or Turkish Consulate certification. Customs approval may also be required.
Document requirements can vary depending on the item, where it was lost, the passenger's country and Customs requirements. Always confirm the current requirements with Turkish Airlines before preparing documents.
Power of Attorney for Turkish Airlines Lost Property
In real cases, Turkish Airlines may ask for the authorization to be prepared in Turkish, translated into Turkish if prepared in another language, certified when required and clearly naming the person who will collect the item. Do not include passport numbers, ID numbers or private signatures on public web pages.
